Eco-listic Art

Large Artworks

The site specific sculptures commissions are carefully designed to fit within the setting of a chosen location and will be unique to it. Sensitive considerations are applied to the materials used, the impact upon the natural environment as well as the ascetics. The aim of the sculptural structures are to work with what is already within the environment. The artworks can enhance a topic such as species that are living in the locality or highlight a past history. Often using tradition rural skills in the creation of the works.

Sculptural structures can becomes a habitat for wildlife as with the sculpture Minerva‘s Surf. Encompassing needs of the local environment within the ascetics. Also it can create space for humans to stop and connect once more with the natural world. With the use of natural materials that change the sculptures become mini nature reserves, special environments for all kinds of insects and in turn attracting other creatures that live from them.

Small Artworks

Natural materials all have unique properties. The smaller artworks are created crafting the materials to their maximum potential, working with the way the material has grown. Woods such as Willow and Hazel, leaves, rushes and beeswax all have special qualities that produce these interesting artworks.

Some of the sculptures also reflect aspects of the natural world such as wildlife, insects, shells or flowers. Echoing the life these materials once had.
